In the name of the Almighty God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Mission Statement:
The Charlotte chapter of the Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP) was established to promote community volunteerism and activism amongst Muslim professionals. Through the building of relationships and participation in collaborative interfaith community service efforts, CAMP – Charlotte aims to encourage pro-social values such as understanding, tolerance, respect, kindness and personal responsibility.
The Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP) Charlotte was established in January of 2004 and is part of CAMP National (see below). Our goals for the upcoming year include the following:
-- To increase the tolerance within our community by helping others better understand the religion of Islam as well as aiding Muslims better understand other faiths.
-- To make Charlotte a better place by promoting a culture of volunteerism and community activism.
-- To sponsor career development programs that will enhance professional skills and generate networking opportunities.
CAMP Charlotte will hold a networking meeting on the first Friday of every month. Along with an update from the Executive Board, each committee chair will provide an update to all the members in attendance.
The Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP) National is a professional networking organization dedicated to serving the needs of the Muslim community. Aside from hosting exciting monthly activities, CAMP participates in a range of charitable and social outreach programs for the benefit of the underprivileged in our society. Our organization also awards scholarships on an annual basis to deserving applicants. With over 2000 active members and over a dozen chapters across North America, CAMP is quickly becoming the premier professional networking organization for Muslims. CAMP strives to provide exciting social, networking, as well as community events to foster personal and professional growth for its members.
